Slovene regulations governing seeds and propagating material

Rules on conditions to be met for carrying out field inspections, sampling and testing of propagating material of agricultural plants under official supervision (OJ RS, No 93/05)

(Entry into force: 22 October 2005)

(Provisions of Articles 6 to 14 concerning the training of inspectors, samplers and analysts shall be applicable from 1 May 2006)

(Entry into force: 29 May 2010)

The Rules regulate:

conditions which apply for the carrying out of, in the procedure for official certification of seeds and propagating material of agricultural plants, under official supervision, by:

appointed inspectors: field examinations of crops,

appointed samplers: sampling of seed for quality analysis of seed,

appointed laboratories: quality analysis of seed;

requirements concerning professional competence and technical equipment of inspectors, samplers and laboratories;

the content and the method of training and of assessing the knowledge of inspectors, samplers and persons carrying out quality analysis of seed in laboratories;

the appointment procedure and the method of keeping a record of appointed inspectors, samplers and laboratories;

the scope and the method of control, carried out by certification authority, of appointed inspectors, samplers and laboratories..

The Rules reflect the content of the following provisions:

Council Directice 2004/117/EC of 22 December 2004 amending Directives 66/401/EEC, 66/402/EEC, 2002/54/EC, 2002/55/EC and 2002/57/EC as regards examinations carried out under official supervision and equivalence of seed produced in third countries (OJ L No 14 of 18.1.2005, p. 18)
