Slovene regulations governing seeds and propagating material

Rules on the marketing of propagating material of ornamental plants (OJ RS, No 61/05)

(Entry into force: 1 July 2005)

The Rules regulate:

the requirements relating to the production and marketing of propagating material of ornamental plants;

the content of the label and document issued by the supplier;

the requirements relating to the list of varieties of ornamental plants kept by the supplier;

the requirements concerning the supplier;

the content of the application form for acquiring authorisation for issuing labels and documents of supplier;

the procedure for official supervision of suppliers and propagating material of ornamental plants.

The Rules reflect the content of the following provisions:

Council Directive 98/56/EC of 20 July 1998 on the marketing of propagating material of ornamental plants (OJ L No 226 of 13. 8. 1998, p. 16), as amended by Council Directive 2003/61/EC;

Commission Directive 93/49/EEC of 23 June 1993 setting out the schedule indicating the conditions to be met by ornamental plant propagating material and ornamental plants pursuant to Council Directive 91/682/EEC (OJ L No 250 of 7. 10. 1993, p. 9), as amended by Commission Directive 1999/67/EC;

Commission Directive 1999/66/EC of 28 June 1999 setting out requirements as to the label or other document made out by the supplier pursuant to Council Directive 98/56/EC (OJ L No 164 of 30. 6. 1999, p. 76);

Commission Directive 1999/68/EC of 28 June 1999 setting out additional provisions for lists of varieties of ornamental plants as kept by suppliers underCouncil Directive 98/56/EC (OJ L No 172 of 8. 7. 1999, p. 42).
