Slovene regulations governing seeds and propagating material 

Decision on granting public authority to the Slovenian Institute for Hop Research and Brewing, Cesta Žalskega tabora 2, 3310 Žalec, for issuing decisions and managing the procedure for official certification of hop plants for planting, except of category 'certified material A'

(Decision No 3431-124/2006/2 of 16.3.2007)

The decision grants the Slovenian Institute for hop research and brewing public authorisation to conduct, as a certification authority, procedure for official certifcation of:

• hop plants for planting, except of category 'certified material A'

The Slovenian Institute for Hop research and brewing conducts the procedure for official certification in accordance with:

• Articles 22., 25., 26. and 27 of the Agricultural Seeds and Propagating Material Act; 

• Rules on the marketing of hop propagating material and of hop plants; 

• regulations governing plant health.

In the procedure for official certification the Slovenian Institute for hop research and brewing provides for:

• the acceptance of applications in the procedure for official certification; 

• the checking if the conditions for starting the procedure for official certification are satisfied (if the variety is included in the National variety list; if the supplier lodging the application is entered in the register of suppliers; if it is an extraordinary certification authorised by PARS, e.g. for varieties in the procedure for acceptance in the National variety list); 

• the performance of inspection of plantations for the production of hop plants for planting;

• the carrying out official samplings and tests of of hop plants for planting pursuant to regulations; 

• the issuing official labels and certificates for hop plants for planting; 

• the supervision of the labelling of hop plants for planting by means of official labels; 

• the issue of decisions refusing official certification if hop plants for planting fail to meet the prescribed conditions and requirements.
