Commission
on Phytosanitary Measures
[CPM]

The commission CPM consists of representatives of national plant
protection organisation, coming from states signatory to the
International convention on plant protection –
IPPC with a voting right, and of observer organisations such as: WTO, CBD
and regional plant protection organisations. The Commission had been
helding its meetings as interim commission pending the entry into force
of amended IPPC (as of
2 October 2005), first every two years and
then every year.
After seven meetings of interim commission (ICPM) the
first meeting of the Commission of
Phytosanitary measures (CPM) was organised from
3 to 7 April 2006. Voting at the
commission is subject to mixed competence of EU Member States and the
European Commission. Coordination of common positions shall take place
at more meetings of the Working group of the Council for plant health in
Brussels. Pred plenarnim zasedanjem CPM v Rimu in med njim potekajo
koordinacijski sestanki EU in držav članic za uskladitev stališč do točk
dnevnega reda.
