Infection with PSTVd may result in yield
losses up to of 65% for potato and 50% for tomato, thus also
potato and tomato may be infected without any visible symptoms. We kindly ask you to inform the Phytosanitary
Administration RS of any ornamental pot plant of Brugmansia (Datura) suavolens
or B. cordata (angel horn) or climberSolanum jasminoides,
bought in 2006.
No costs will be involved in the procedure
since an authorised professional or a phytosanitary inspector will
take sample at your place. If the plant will turn out to be
positive for the viroid PSTVd and will have to be destroyed, you
will be paid recovery for its value.
Please be aware that
the matter is of the utmost concern since the aim of our plant
protection service, as well as of all EU plant protection services,
is to eradicate the introduced viroid PSTVd! |
