III. COORDINATION IN THE FIELD OF PLANT HEALTH
Administration is the central responsible body for plant health in the
Republic of Slovenia, providing for the coordination and exchange of
information among bodies and performers of public service and for
reporting to the European Commission, its main tasks being:

Coordination of work with
phytosanitary inspection and expert institutions, which perform
diagnostic activity and provide professional support for
controlling pests.

Transmission of
information and coordination concerning the protection of plants
against pests with departments and sectors of MAFF, MESPE and other
ministries.
-
Engagement of experts in
international expert groups in the field.
-
Calling and maintaining
general commission for plant health, with members appointed by the
minister and having, as the highest consulting body of the plant
health section, two sessions a year.

Discussion of the national
strategy programmes for plant health and of new system solutions.
-
Acception of activity
reports of individual institutions.
-
Proposal of the direction
of study work, technical expertise tasks and projects.

Convening expert groups,
assistance in resolving specific problems in the field of:

plant health in fruit
growing, vine growing
-
plant health in
arable farming
-
research projects
-
phytomedicinal
terminology.
