REGISTRATION - Phytophthora ramorum

The latest changes in the European phytosanitary legislation resulted in certain modifications of the lists of plants which are liable to registration and issue of plant passports.

The Republic of Slovenia implemented the above amendments of the phytosanitary legislation through the following regulations: 

• Rules on phytosanitary measures to prevent the introduction and spread of Phytophthora ramorum

• Rules on protective measures and procedures with regard to the introduction and spread of pests harmful to plants, plant products and regulated articles

Amendments of the lists:

• List of plants V.A.I./1, which must be issued plant passports until final user, has included also the following plant species (other than fruits and seeds):

  • Rododendron (Rhododendron L.) 

  • Snowball tree (Viburnum L.) 

  • Camelia (Camellia L.)

• List of plants V.A.I./2, which must be accompanied by plant passport if intended to producers engaged in marketing, has included also planting material of all herbaceous plants (other than representatives of the family Poaceae, and other than seeds, bulbs, corms, rootstocks and tubers). Planting material of these plants is represented mainly by plants for planting and cuttings of ornamental plants and vegetables.

Registration or authorisation for the issue of plant passports in respect of the above plant species must be extended.
